L'Arche Sudbury is recruiting a Capital Campaign Leader

L’Arche Sudbury is an agency funded by the provincial Ministry of Children’s, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and is also part of an international movement of communities whose mission is “to make known the gifts of all people through mutually transformative relationships” larche.ca

Traditionally, L’Arche communities have achieved their mission by sharing life together in homes that offered residential settings and day programs.  L’Arche Sudbury has been offering these services since 1982 and currently operates three group settings and activation programs for senior members and community participation programs for younger members who live within and outside our homes.  We have decided to diversify the way we offer supports to people by building affordable, accessible, and supported apartment living for people with and without intellectual disabilities.

Our new building will also allow us to provide services tailored for individuals’ interests, needs and scheduling preferences in our community gathering space, outdoor gardens and trails as well as participation in activities throughout the Greater City of Sudbury.  A “trying it on for size” (TIFS) training program for folks who wish to learn independent living skills and a respite apartment setting are also planned for the new build.

We are seeking a talented, hard-working, and innovative Leader to implement and manage a $5M capital campaign as part of the resources needed to build our apartments, community living and administrative spaces. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the diverse culture of the Sudbury area.  Bilingualism will be considered a strong asset.

The Capital Campaign Leader, reporting to the Executive Director, will be responsible for the successful execution of the capital campaign in collaboration with the leadership team, and volunteers. The incumbent will take the lead to generate philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.   They will work closely and collaboratively with the Development and Communications Leader of L’Arche Sudbury.
