L’Arche Abitibi-Témiscamingue is a dynamic community that welcomes 18 core members in three homes and two supervised apartments and also offers respite to 4 people and their families. The core members feel truly at home and benefit greatly from the richness of community life.
They offer recreational activities for people with intellectual disabilities in Amos and the surrounding area. About 70 people a week benefit from activities such as painting, crafts, bowling, bingo, aerobics, boxing, team sports, soccer, music, pastry, group cooking, relaxation or stimulation in a multi-sensory “Snoezelen” room… as well as several occasional activities (disco, summer outings, ice fishing, video nights…)
The community also offer 2 sectors of socio-professional activities that reach 18 people with an intellectual disability: a mosaic workshop and a maintenance team that cleans the offices of other organizations and individuals, as well as lawn mowing and snow removal.
