Board of Directors, L’Arche Canada

Joseph Reynaud
Joseph Reynaud Board Chair

A partner in the law firm Stikeman Elliott, specializing in insolvency and litigation, he has grown up with L’Arche and his father was a Community Leader in France and Canada. Before assuming his current position, Joseph was a Board Member of L’Arche Montréal.

Vincent Kazmierski
Vincent Kazmierski Vice-Chair and Governance Committee Chair

Vincent Kazmierski is an Associate Professor and past Chair of the Department of Law and Legal Studies at Carleton University. He is currently serving as the Chair of the L’Arche Canada Governance Committee.

Nancy Marenick
Nancy Marenick Secretary

Nancy Marenick is a retired teacher and former Director of the Writing Centre at St. Francis Xavier University.

Samuel Watts
Samuel Watts Director

Sam is the CEO and Executive Director of Welcome Hall Mission in Montreal, a community organization founded in 1892, dedicated to eliminating chronic homelessness and hunger. He is the author of Good Work Done Better, a book published in 2020 that proposes ideas for how community-based non-profit organizations can improve their impact.

Agnes Thomas
Agnes Thomas Director

Dr. Agnes Thomas is the Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto. Agnes served in the not-for-profit sector for more than two decades locally and internationally, including time in Larche in India, the US and Canada. She also serves on several non-profit boards and network tables in the Greater Toronto Area.

Lauren Alexander
Lauren Alexander Director

Lauren Alexander is the Director of Finance and Corporate Services for Build Nova Scotia. Lauren has been part of the L’Arche Canada Foundation Board of Directors since 2021. Lauren also serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the Zatsman Sportsplex, a local non-profit Multi-District facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and may be found volunteering with various organizations that her son is apart of.

Randal Van de Mosselaer Director

Randal Van de Mosselaer has been practicing in the areas of insolvency, restructuring and commercial litigation since 1993, and has represented clients before all levels of the courts in both Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as in the Supreme Court of Canada. Randall served on the Board of L’Arche Calgary for 12 ½ years (from October 2004 to June 2017) in various offices, including three years as Board President.

Sharon Irving Kubicek Treasurer

Sharon is a senior Portfolio Manager with BMO Nesbitt Burns, having joined the predecessor company, Nesbitt Thomson, in 1980. She has served on the board of an affordable housing project, St Margaret’s Towers, for over eleven years, most of that time as treasurer.
