Survey to identify barriers to accessing financial benefits
L’Arche Canada has partnered on People First of Canada’s project with Community Living Ontario to gather information from people with intellectual disabilities to identify the barriers they face when trying to access financial benefits. You and your loved ones are invited to give your feedback by participating in this survey.

Plain language resources
Clear, concise and easy to understand resources on the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) , the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) , and the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB).

Workshops and webinars
In February, L’Arche Canada hosted several meetings to share information about these federal financial benefits and to hear from people with disabilities about the challenges they face in applying. These conversations have helped shape how we can provide better support moving forward.

Federal disability benefits includes disability pensions and children’s benefits, savings plans and a gasoline tax refund program.

No Clawbacks from the Canada Disability Benefit! campaign
The Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) is meant to support people with disabilities, but in some provinces and territories, social assistance rules could reduce its impact. Seven regions have committed to no clawbacks, but others still need to act. If you live in Alberta, New Brunswick, the Northwest Territories, Ontario, PEI, or in the Yukon, join Maytree and March of Dimes Canada in urging your government to protect the CDB from clawbacks.
