Safeguarding procedures at L'Arche in Canada

Safety and protection of all members and friends, or safeguarding, is important to us and is enshrined in the values of L’Arche. L’Arche Canada is committed to protecting all of our members, with and without intellectual disabilities, from harm caused by any kind of abuse, violence, harassment or neglect. This commitment to promote a safe environment and culture is part of our mission: to honour the unique value of every human being.

Reporting a concern or submitting a complaint

We want all our members and stakeholders to speak up if they see or experience situations that are causing harm.

Please note that when you submit a complaint the link will take you to a form that goes to a third-party to review and send to L’Arche Canada for processing. Complaints that are related to a local L’Arche community will go a Regional Leader to be processed with the community. Complaints that are for L’Arche Canada will go to Director of Human Resources and the National Leader to be processed.
