L'Arche Winnipeg is recruiting a Community Events Coordinator
The Community Events Coordinator position is a part‐time position (20 hours/week) with responsibility to coordinate Community Events for L’Arche Winnipeg. This person is accountable to the Assistants Coordinator and the leadership team. The Community Events Coordinator is an effective member of the house leader’s team in the community. They meet once a month, September through June, with the Homes Coordinators.
We currently have six L’Arche homes in Winnipeg where people with and without disabilities live together: four houses in the Transcona area, one in Windsor Park and one in St. Boniface. We also have two women who live independently with support. L’Arche Tova Café is our community café that is located in the heart of Transcona. It creates employment for people with and without a disability and serves as an outreach for the community. The Community Events person will be working out of our office at 118 Regent Avenue East in Transcona.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Leadership team in the community as well as with office personnel, core members, support workers, casual respite workers, and assistants in the homes.
- The person works within the directives given by the leadership team for the rhythm of Community life.
- Prepare an annual budget for regular Community events and work within the budget approved by the Finance Committee.
- Oversee the coordination of Community events.
